A Little More About My Center

Comforts of Home Child Care is an in-home family child care center, certified and licensed by the State of Wisconsin. I am licensed to care for 8 children at one time (sometime less, depending on the ages of enrolled children), ages 2 weeks up to 12 years. However, my current program is presently designed to best accommodate children aged 8 weeks up to 5 years old.

The center is licensed from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm although I'm not providing care for hours past 4:30 pm at this time. Later hours may be considered, on an individual case basis. 

Children are enrolled regardless of race, nationality, sexual orientation, or creed on a first come, first serve basis. Children may be enrolled on a full-time, part-time, and drop-in basis and based on contracted hours and only for up to 9 hours a day. 

I am trained in infant/child First Aid, AED, CPR, SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), SBS (Shaken Baby Syndrome), Mandated Reporter and required to take 15 hours of continuing education every year. All household members and providers must have caregiver background checks done yearly as well as submit  fingerprints to be on file permanently.

• Choosing a daycare is a very stressful experience. I had made the decision early on in my pregnancy that I had wanted my daughter to go to an at home daycare rather than a center because of more personal interactions. Prior to finding Jan at Comforts of Home I toured a few other at home daycares and I would go home after every visit and worry about this decision that I had to make to choose the place that my daughter would be going as I work full time. At the moment I walked in to meet with Jan I knew that this was the place for my daughter. My daughter has been with Jan since September 2010 and I could not be happier. From the first day I dropped her off at six weeks old I did not worry about her at all. It is so great in the morning when I drop her off and ask her if she wants to go by Jan and she puts her arms out and a smile on her face. That to me says everything a parent needs to know. I also enjoy getting the daily updates of what went on during the day as well as the wonderful photos of my daughter and her interactions with the other children. Comforts of Home is exactly as the name says-my daughter is just as much at home there as she is at her own place. Thank you Jan for all that you have done to make my transition as a new parent so smooth and for treating us all as family. My daughter will be there for many years to come.
